The first London League match of the year witnessed Gavin’s team facing perennial league champions, the mighty Wood Green. Only losing 3½-6½ was a highly creditable performance. Blair Connell won his game, while there were draws for Ameet Ghasi, Iain Gourlay, Gavin Wall, Mike Healey and Jonathan Somekh.

Our Thames Valley C Team continue to find life hard in Division 4. They’ve already played two away matches this year, losing 4-2 to Harrow B (a win for Alex Shard, draws for Barry Sutton and George Dokic) and 4½-1½ to Surbiton C (draws for Alex Shard, Dan Donohoe and Jim Anandajeyarajah).

Richmond D, also in Division 4, drew with Ealing C, Masoud Molazadeh, Huw Willilams and Richmond Junior Club member Lewis Low, making his first appearance for RTCC, scored the wins.
