Another fantastic performance to report – and more great results from our new members.
Our TV C team match against Kingston B currently stands level with one game to finish.
Julian Bedale reports:
“Thanks to all who played, & particular congratulations to Marcel, who recovered from a piece & a pawn down against his opponent & has now registered his second successive match win. Also to Andreas, who recorded his first win.
“Overall we obtained a good result against a side of tough opponents – & we are hopeful of Masoud’s game being agreed as a draw in the next day or so.”

An impressive performance against a team who were on paper both stronger and more experienced. It’s good to see Adam Nakar, a former RJCC member, in action, even if he was playing for the wrong club!
Watch this space: I’ll update once further news of B2 is available (and, by the way, if you haven’t read Stephen Moss’s book The Rookie you really ought to do so).
Update (28-10-19): Board 2 has now been agreed drawn, making the match score 3:3.
