Our first Eastman Cup match of the season saw us facing Athenaeum. Strengthened by the inclusion of Richard Bates, whose usual club, Hackney, doesn’t play in the cup, we outgraded our opponents on the top boards and scored what looked like a fairly comfortable victory.
