Thames Valley League

Many thanks to all of you who have completed our questionnaire about the Thames Valley League.

So far, 34 of you have replied – and two of you were so enthusiastic that you filled it in twice! If you haven’t completed it yet there’s still time: it will only take you a minute or two.

As a result we’ve found out:

  • We have enough players to run three teams (in addition to the D and E teams which are run separately)
  • We have potential captains for all teams
  • We have several strong new members to boost our A team
  • We have a lot of new or relatively new members who might be interested in captaining a team or serving on the committee in other ways

The Thames Valley League, apart from being our local league, is very important to us for very many reasons: not least because we’re the only club which has never been out of the top division since the league’s foundation.

If you’re interested in getting involved in helping us in any way – or if you have any friends who might be interested in joining the club, do please get in touch via our contact page.

I’ll be posting here a lot more in future about both the past and, more importantly, the future of Richmond & Twickenham Chess Club. Do please stay tuned and visit us regularly.
