Chess Puzzle of the Week (226)

It’s been too long since I last gave you a helpmate to solve.

In a helpmate White and Black cooperate to reach a checkmate position. The convention is that, unless there’s a ½ in the stipulation, Black makes the first move.

This is a Helpmate in 6: your task is to construct a sequence of 6 moves by each player (BWBWBWBWBWBW), concluding with White delivering checkmate on the 6th move.

It was composed by Nicolae Popa and published in the September 2022 issue of The Problemist.

Good luck!
