You can visit Richmond & Twickenham Chess Club for free by registering on our site. This will add your name to our Check-in system and it will tell us to expect you!

Joining our Chess Club is also very straightforward. Once you are registered, just choose the correct membership subscription for your circumstances (their details are explained in their descriptions). Our membership year runs from September 1st of each year to August 31st of the following year. Payment is by bank transfer, all details given during the secure purchase process.

Membership prices for September 1st 2026 to August 31st 2027 range from £40 (on sale now for £35) for our social-only players through to £70 (on sale now for £65) for our Full Adult members. A quick note about the English Chess Federation (ECF). Competitive Chess play in England requires some kind of ECF membership (except for our own internal competitions). There are two main levels:

ECF Bronze membership entitles you to play in league matches such as those in the London, Surrey and Thames Valley Leagues.

ECF Gold Membership is if you want to play in congresses as an individual.
