Firework night saw another visit to Wimbledon, this time to face the mighty Wimbledon A. There weren’t too many fireworks, but we came close to a result thanks, as usual, to Gavin and Mike on the top two boards.
| Wimbledon A | Richmond A | ||
| 1 | Marcus Osborne 197 | 0:1 | Gavin Wall 222 |
| 2 | Ivar Chavannes 198 | 0:1 | Mike Healey 205 |
| 3 | Robin Haldane 191 | ½:½ | Chris White 167 |
| 4 | Russell Picot 193 | 1:0 | Richard James 170 |
| 5 | Mark Dubey 176 | 1:0 | Bertie Barlow 161 |
| 6 | Phil Gregory 175 | 1:0 | Ian McLeod 154 |
| 7 | Tony Hughes 171 | ½:½ | Max Wood-Robinson – |
| 8 | Nick Keene 165 | 1:0 | Sampson Low 157 |
| 5:3 |
In the adjourned game on board 6, Ian is a pawn down, with good drawing chances but, sadly for us, no winning chances.
Update: Wimbledon won the adjournment on B6, so win the match 5-3.
