Firework night saw another visit to Wimbledon, this time to face the mighty Wimbledon A. There weren’t too many fireworks, but we came close to a result thanks, as usual, to Gavin and Mike on the top two boards.
|Wimbledon A||Richmond A|
|1||Marcus Osborne 197||0:1||Gavin Wall 222|
|2||Ivar Chavannes 198||0:1||Mike Healey 205|
|3||Robin Haldane 191||½:½||Chris White 167|
|4||Russell Picot 193||1:0||Richard James 170|
|5||Mark Dubey 176||1:0||Bertie Barlow 161|
|6||Phil Gregory 175||1:0||Ian McLeod 154|
|7||Tony Hughes 171||½:½||Max Wood-Robinson –|
|8||Nick Keene 165||1:0||Sampson Low 157|
In the adjourned game on board 6, Ian is a pawn down, with good drawing chances but, sadly for us, no winning chances.
Update: Wimbledon won the adjournment on B6, so win the match 5-3.
