Chess Puzzle of the Week (349)

My latest Minor Piece tells the story of the problemist Miss Rose Marsden and her husband, William Edward Lester, one of the leading figures in the British chess problem world in the inter-war years.

Here’s one of his problems for you to solve this week.

#2 Lester, William Edward
The Problemist, 1930

It’s White to play and force mate in 2 moves, against any Black defence.

Even if you’ve never attempted problems of this type before, do have a go at solving this one. It shouldn’t be too difficult.
